Believing in who they are and sending sincere support, Just one person can change the lives of LGBTIQ youth. Ten years ago, DDing Dong took its first step to become ‘just one person’.

Now I don't feel left alone

DDing Dong has stood
by LGBTIQ youth.

In 2025, DDing Dong celebrates its 10th anniversary. Over these years, together with LGBTIQ youth, we have created change. Now, we want to share the change we made.

As a LGBTIQ person,
I always felt lonely, but after knowing DDing Dong, that loneliness has significantly diminished.

LGBTIQ youth who met DDing Dong

Over ten years,
we have been by their side.

We’ve walked alongside LGBTIQ youth for the past 10 years.

Communicated through 17,012 KakaoTalk exchanges, lowering thresholds for life counseling, support requests, and warm greetings.

Met 1,356 LGBTIQ youth nationwide.

Listened to concerns through 3,489 counselling sessions and supported lives.

For ten years,
we have been there.

Throughout every step of the journey, DDingDong has been there — so no one feels alone. 

Found ways out of crises for LGBTIQ youth through 1,449 legal, medical, housing, and psychological consultations.

Provided necessities and warm greetings to 617 youth leaving homes they couldn’t live in as their true selves.

Found a safe space at DDing Dong Restaurant to share hearts with peers, engaging with 813 individuals.

We are providing closer support to
transgender and non-binary youth.

Due to family and societal misunderstandings about gender identity and legal and medical limitations, consultations with transgender and non-binary youth at DDing Dong are increasing. We discover and provide necessary resources in consultations, creating a stronger presence together.

LGBTIQ youth who met DDing Dong

We spent the past ten years with LGBTIQ youth, and finally they found a space to breathe in a world where they had to hide their identity.

Before knowing DDing Dong, 12% of LGBTIQ youth responded,
'I need help, but there’s no one to turn to.' There was no one nearby to rely on or extend a hand to.
However, after meeting DDing Dong, responses to the same question decreased significantly to 3.4%. 
They were no longer alone. 

Since its establishment,
DDing Dong has transformed societal perceptions positively over ten years. 

DDing Dong has been striving to change the social status of LGBTIQ youth from 'invisible beings' to 'coexisting beings' in society. Invisible to visible, respecting their identities, DDing Dong walks with LGBTIQ youth in the flow of change.
